December 2023 saw a 3.7 percent unemployment rate and 6.3 million jobless people, nearly unchanged from the previous year. These figures are greater than they were a year ago, when there were 5.7 million unemployed people and a 3.5 percent unemployment rate. Unemployment refers to the share of the labor force that is without work but available for and seeking employment.

Even if more students are failing, nobody is failing.
